The Practice
Traffic Impact was established in January 1996. The principal, Keith Robinson,
is widely experienced in all aspects of the effect of development on road traffic. He also has
considerable experience of transport (road, rail and air) and environmental noise. He has given
expert evidence at all levels of the planning system.
Practice Objectives
It is the objective of the practice to provide independent personal advice
based upon a professional and cost-effective service. The accurate assessment of the
transport implications of development is a fundamental component of the advice.
Inter-relationships
It is the policy of the practice to maintain good relationships with officers of
the highway authorities in the southern part of the UK. This enables prompt contact to be made
with the appropriate officer(s) and ensures a reasonable and helpful attitude on their part.
The background of the practice includes extensive experience of working in inter-disciplinary
teams. As a result our advice takes into account the needs of the other professionals within the
team (architects, solicitors, agents and, most importantly, the developer).
Experience
The practice has wide experience of all forms of development in a wide
geographical area. This includes residential, retail, office, employment, education and mixed uses.
An increasing element of our workload is the re-development of so called brown field sites.
Noise also forms a significant aspect of the advice we are able to offer. The experience includes
residential sites adjoining main railway lines and major roads, windfarms, industrial and commercial
noise, and noisy neighbours.
Clients
The practice has a broad base including a range of house builders and developers, privatised industry, land owners and private individuals.
Commissions have been undertaken for local authorities: Buckinghamshire, Devon and Hertfordshire
County Councils, Exeter City Council, South Buckinghamshire District Council as well as Parish
Councils and Residents Associations.

uses including initial contact with statutory undertakers.
